(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Jan 3, 2010) In a week 17 Higher Education League of Fantasy Football battle, Horrorshow Groodies squeaked by a tough Vicious Wieners team by a score of 51.60 to 49.50, silencing a partisan crowd of 71,514.
Horrorshow Groodies were led to their 2.10 point victory by a 14.90 point effort from Jay Feely, who snuck past the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 3 field goals made and 4 extra points. With this performance, Feely was the number 2 ranked place kicker for week 17. They also got help from a 12.00 point effort from Rashard Mendenhall, who got by the Miami Dolphins defense for 94 rushing yards in addition to 26 receiving yards.
"I'm in a state of shock," Horrorshow Groodies coach Eric Moreau said.
Vicious Wieners were helped out in a losing cause by a 19.80 point effort from Thomas Jones, who got by the Cincinnati Bengals defense for 78 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs. They also got help from a 7.30 point effort from Tom Brady, who snuck past the Houston Texans defense for 186 passing yards.
"They outplayed us in every phase of the game," Vicious Wieners coach Jim Matovina said.
Adding salt to the wound, Vicious Wieners could have scored 79.45 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Jim Matovina left key players like the Green Bay Packers Defensive Team and his corresponding 14.00 points on the bench.
Horrorshow Groodies took advantage of their schedule this week, as their point total would have gone for a loss against 9 out of 10 other potential opponents in week 17. This brings the record for Horrorshow Groodies to 8-6, and drops Vicious Wieners to a record of 10-4.
